The info on this blog is Public. . But I use this blog as my personal library or file dedicated to exploring and learning my. faith. Anything that I want to save pertaining to ' all things Catholic'. will be found here..
It contains,Church documents, catechisms, pages or articles from Catholic sites: Catholic bloggers ,forums, news, apologetics, videos(link always included). There may even be a post that I have written myself but that does not happen very often...
Finally I have found the FULL quote that I have been looking for from JPII 2 years before he became the pope. I found it in this article by Fr Dwight Longenecker who got it from a different article by Fr CJ McCloskey. The link is Fr Longenecker's article no longer leads to Fr McCloskey 'a article but I found that link at that address using the internet archives. Fr. McCloskeys article can now be found at this link, https://web.archive.org/web/20140906045955/http://www.thecatholicthing.org/columns/2014/the-final-confrontation.html
We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel.
“We must be prepared to undergo great trials in the not-too-distant future; trials that will require us to be ready to give up even our lives, and a total gift of self to Christ and for Christ. Through your prayers and mine, it is possible to alleviate this tribulation, but it is no longer possible to avert it. . . .How many times has the renewal of the Church been brought about in blood! It will not be different this time.”
LifeSite editor's Note:We have re-published this article from Rorate Caeli because of its relevance to the issues of the now on-going Synod on the Family. The synod is appearing to have ignored crucial references to the great works of St. Pope John Paul II in his Encyclical Letter Veritatis Splendor, as well as The Gospel of Life (Evangelium Vitae) and The Theology of the Body.
