=========================================
So you can lose salvation? If you inherit eternal life, how do you lose that? eternal - never ending.

My answer:
That does not happen until our judgement (or what is a judgement for anyway? If you could get saved once and for all...there would be no need of a judgement [neither when we die (particular judgement) nor on the last day (general judgement)] for everyone would either be saved or they had not gotten saved before they die.... and why would the Bible say that Baptism now saves you. Just as circumcism brings you into the family of God in the Old Covenant, Baptism brings you into the family of God in the New covenant. Faith is not enough. As Jesus said, 'Even the demons believe!" It IS true though, that we cannot merit our own salvation. We are saved by Jesus sacrifice on the cross for our sins through Grace. It is grace that saves us but we must cooperate with this grace. We have free will and we can refuse or accept this grace each and every day until the day we die. We can change our minds at any time. We can accept or reject salvation at any moment until we die. When we are cooperating with this grace and believing in Jesus and accepting salvation through Him and His sacrifice for our sins, then our actions will testify to it., our lives will show it...which is why when Jesus separates the sheep from the goats on the last day he talks about feeding him when he is hungry, clothing him when he is naked etc...."Whatsoever you do to the least of these, you do to me.' As St Paul says, we work out our salvation in fear and trembling...
