Parish History


'My' Church, St Joseph, the Church I grew up in from the age of 11. We went downtown to St John's  before that . The Gulf Coast was growing fast.The diocese decided that it was time to split the area covered by St Johns and that our area should have its own parish. And St Joseph's came into existence. The priest assigned to us had the responsibility of pastoring and overseeing  the building of 2 churches, ours, which is St Joseph's,  and St Mary's  in Woolmarket, the area north of Biloxi . This is an accurate history of that process. I helped lay the tile in the kitchen area f the new church. I was 12 by then. :)
