Time out! My reaction below is based on this article! ...and I should know better than that! When I listened to the video of 'soundbites' and and the explanation with it, it really did NOT sound the same to me as the article...
I was not 'scandalized' by the message in the video...

I MUST learn not to REACT!... I think it is still good advise that I gave myself at the end of the reaction, though...I will put the video(RomeReports) under the article...
Well....all I can say at the moment is that I do not think that Pope Francis is aware of most of the content such of the preaching....I do not expect perfect men...but I do expect CATHOLUC messages...I do not expect the priest to preach AGAINST the teachings of the Church
Perhaps he is referring to the reactions to HIS preaching and on THAT, I would have to completely agree with him....
SIGH....I was growing to understand what I thought he was sayng....but now , I have been thrown back ...into confusion...There are so many things that I wish I could ask him and a ton more I would like t ask exactly what he is referring to , thinking of,....saying
I think that I need to quit listening to all of it for a while....no ,ore day by day blows... I need to quit worrying about what everybody says that he says ,,,,and about WHAT he says....and what the translations are saying that he says TOO...and I guess that means not listening to what he is saying for a while... I need to focus on growing in my faith-understanding it better and learning what has already been ....Too much confusion in the present....If I am still around, I will come back to it when it too has receded a bit into the past and gained a bit more focus with seeing what comes after it and the story will play out---this day by day stuff is a waste of time....and I do not think that this confusion...MINE...is of GOD.

In a homily at Mass on December 13, Pope Francis said that Christians who always criticize preachers are “sad Christians,” who are “trapped” in their own conceptions of the faith. Commenting on the Jews who rejected the message of St. John the Baptist, and then rejected the message of Jesus, the Pope remarked: 
The people of that time preferred to take refuge in a more elaborate religion: in the moral precepts, such as the group of Pharisees; in political compromise, as the Sadducees; in social revolution, as the zealots; in gnostic spirituality, such as Essenes.The same tendencies are visible today, the Pope continued, among Christians who invariably find fault with the message presented to them by their priests. They are caught up in their own ideologies, he said, and unable to hear the Gospel message. This is a great loss, the Pope said, because effective preaching should sometimes be upsetting. The Church, he said, “admonishes you, teaches you—slaps you, as well—but it is the very freedom that makes the Church grow.” This problem, the Pope went on, illustrates what St. Paul said about the scandal of preaching: “That God should speak to us through men with limits—sinful men—scandalizes.” Some people focus on the weaknesses of the preachers rather than the content of their message. “These sad Christians do not believe in the Holy Spirit,” the Pope concluded, urging his congregation to pray that they might be open to hearing the Gospel message.
