[Then by all means, have them on Vatican Radio.]

The role of women in the Church, including “leadership roles” is a matter for open discussion.
However, a group that pushes for the ordination of women is a dissident fringe group.  Such a group ought to be excluded from dialogue until they give up their heretical position (cf Ordinatio sacerdotalis).
So… what’s up with Vatican Radio giving them airtime?

1. This is totally disgusting!
   Future Church supports Women’s Ordination, the LCWR and the reform of the Church in line with their Vatican II vision that misinterprets the Council with a complete hermeneutic of rupture using the ‘Spirit of Vatican II’ ideology.
   ! I believe that this IS the great apostasy …as we go forward, they may seem to win but we must not give up. We must not become discouraged and quit.
   We must remember our basic weapons;
   Prayer, Fasting, Penance… the Rosary…and TRUST in the promises of the Lord…
   I truly believe that this is what John Paul II warned us about. The ‘reform’ that these groups work for and the beliefs formed by this way of thinking IS the antiChurch , spreading the antiGospel , preaching and teaching an antiChrist….
   Lord have mercy on us and protect us and guide us!
   I truly hate seeing the fighting, arrogance and judgmental condemnations on many traditionalists blogs. They seem to have become their own magesteriums. Often, I can see little difference between them and Pharisees. Oftentimes it seem that many have lost sight of the difference between judging words, ideas or actions and judging a person….and it is hard for me to see any charity in what I am reading.They believe that they are fighting FOR the Church but as I see it, in reality, they are often fighting AGAINST Her.
   Thank You Fr, Z for your blog… and for your insights. You are one of the few blogs with traditional values and the beliefs that I hold dear that I can still read. I really appreciate that…and YOU!
   For most of us it is easy to see how the deceived ‘Spirit of Vatican II’ crowd is fighting against the Church. But they also truly believe that they are fighting FOR her. It is harder for many us to see it as fighting against the Church if it is from a traditionalist point of view.
   The deception is great in these times that we live! I believe that it is a grave mistake to think that we are immune to being deceived.. I pray every day for protection against deception and for guidance. Again, this is how I see it…
   The Church needs us all to fight FOR her!

   Yep! I knew it….It IS the purposeful hijacking of Pope Francis. I am not as nice as most people on the issues of the mistranslations at the Vatican. After the 4th or 5 th time….There is no benefit of the doubt to be had as far as I m concerned. It is purposeful at the Vatican to mistranslate his words into English. It does not matter what PopeFrancis actually says if it is different from what people are TOLD that he says…and everyone just believes the distortions that they are TOLD that he says! It seems that far too many people are sooo quick to believe the worst…. (and even to judge and condemn Pope Francis- on what they are TOLD that he has said)… or ,as in the case of the liberal antichurch, to believe the best, as in what is closer to what they WANT to hear him say !

UPDATE: According the website Acipresa, CLAR has retracted their record of Pope Francis addressing the 'Gay Lobby':

The Latin American and Caribbean Confederation of Religious (CLAR) last night issued a statement noting that the statement "cannot attribute to the Pope with absolute certainty" the statements referring to the existence of a gay lobby in the Vatican.

Pope Francis acknowledged the existence of a 'gay lobby' in the Roman Curia for the first time last week and suggested that he was considering taking action on it.
The Pontiff made the statement on a 'gay lobby' in the Vatican during an audience granted to CLAR (the Latin American and Caribbean Confederation of Religious Men and Women - Confederación Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Religiosos y Religiosas) on June 6, 2013, the Catholic blog Rorate Caeli reported.
Excerpts of that meeting were reported in Spanish on the Chilean Catholic website Reflexion y Liberation:

"Y, sí… es difícil. En la curia hay gente santa, de verdad, hay gente santa. Pero también hay una corriente de corrupción, también la hay, es verdad… Se habla del “lobby gay”, y es verdad, está ahí… hay que ver qué podemos hacer…"

(translation)

"Yes, it is difficult. In the curia there are holy people, truly holy people. But there is also a current of corruption, also there is, it is true... they speak of a 'Gay Lobby' and that is true, it is there.. we will have to see what we can do..."

He did not specify what kind of action he might take.
Last February, The Irish Times reported that there was a secret report commissioned in the aftermath of the Vatican leak scandal that informed the Pope that lobbies within the Holy See were breaking the sixth and seventh commandments: "thou shalt not steal" and "thou shalt not commit adultery".
"The "stealing" referring to money laundering scandals that hit the Vatican Bank, while the sexual offenses alluded to the gay lobby's influence, the Irish Times explained.
The gay lobby's power, was speculated to have influenced then-Pope Benedict XVI decision to retire.

The Guardian brings us startling but, for insiders, unsurprising news:

A potentially explosive report has linked the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI to the discovery of a network of gay prelates in the Vatican, some of whom – the report said – were being blackmailed by outsiders.
The pope’s spokesman declined to confirm or deny the report, which was carried by the Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica.
The paper said the pope had taken the decision on 17 December that he was going to resign – the day he received a dossier compiled by three cardinals delegated to look into the so-called “Vatileaks” affair.
Last May Pope Benedict’s butler, Paolo Gabriele, was arrested and charged with having stolen and leaked papal correspondence that depicted the Vatican as a seething hotbed of intrigue and infighting.
According to La Repubblica, the dossier comprising “two volumes of almost 300 pages – bound in red” had been consigned to a safe in the papal apartments and would be delivered to the pope’s successor upon his election.
The newspaper said the cardinals described a number of factions, including one whose members were “united by sexual orientation”.
In an apparent quotation from the report, La Repubblica said some Vatican officials had been subject to “external influence” from laymen with whom they had links of a “worldly nature”. The paper said this was a clear reference to blackmail.

I don’t know if this is true. I expect that it is.
UPDATE: To refresh your memory, there was this 2010 story from Panorama. Augean stables. Poor Benedict. True, this story is very thinly sourced, which is why I don’t say that I know it’s true. But I expect that it is true because of what I know all too well about the lavender mafia in the US Catholic Church, from things priests in a position to know about the situation in Rome have told me personally, and from situations like the Cardinal Groer debacle. Remember this from 2010?:

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger tried to persuade Pope John Paul II to mount a full investigation into a cardinal who abused boys and young monks, one of the Church’s most senior figures revealed yesterday. But Ratzinger’s opponents in the Vatican managed to block the inquiry. As the future Benedict XVI put it: “The other side won.”
The pervert cardinal was the late Hans Hermann Groer, removed as Archbishop of Vienna in 1995 following sex allegations. The source for the story is Groer’s successor in Vienna, Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn, an intellectual whom some commentators have tipped as a possible future Pope.

“The other side won,” according to Benedict, quoted by Cdl. Schoenborn, who personally put a lot on the line trying to compel John Paul to deal with this situation.
Who was on the “other side” of Cardinal Ratzinger, and why would they cover up for a molesting gay cardinal?

I DO hope that the HOly Father realizes that there was purposeful mistranslations and mistakes made in our translation and that it was just in the last few years that it was corrected!!!   Oh Lord, I AM so grateful that we had Pope Benedict to give us back soe of the reverence and to correct the English amongst other things... I just do not trust that Pope Francis KNOWS what is going on and has gone on in this country.... Poppy, MAKE SURE THAT HE KNOWS, PLEASE!

Lydia O’Kane reports Below is a translation of the Holy Father's Address to the “International Commission on English in the Liturgy” (ICEL)
My Brother Bishops,Dear Friends,
I welcome the members and staff of the International Commission on English in the Liturgy as you gather in Rome to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Commission’s establishment. I thank Archbishop Arthur Roche, Secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, and a former President of ICEL, for presenting you. Through you, I send greetings and the expression of my gratitude to the Conferences of Bishops which you represent, and to the consultors and personnel who cooperate in the ongoing work of the Commission.
Founded as part of the implementation of the great liturgical renewal called for by the Second Vatican Council’s Constitution on the Divine Liturgy, ICEL was also one of the signs of the spirit of episcopal collegiality which found expression in the Council’s Dogmatic Constitution on the Church (cf. Lumen Gentium, 22-25). The present anniversary is an occasion for giving thanks for the work which the Commission has accomplished over the past fifty years in providing English translations of the texts of the liturgy, but also in advancing the study, understanding and appropriation of the Church’s rich sacramental and euchological tradition. The work of the Commission has also contributed significantly to that conscious, active and devout participation called for by the Council, a participation which, as Pope Benedict XVI has rightly reminded us, needs to be understood ever more deeply “on the basis of a greater awareness of the mystery being celebrated and its relation to daily life” (Sacramentum Caritatis, 52). The fruits of your labours have not only helped to form the prayer of countless Catholics, but have also contributed to the understanding of the faith, the exercise of the common priesthood and the renewal of the Church’s missionary outreach, all themes central to the teaching of the Council. Indeed, as Blessed John Paul II pointed out, “for many people, the message of the Second Vatican Council was perceived principally through the liturgical reform” (Vicesimus quintus annus, 12).
Dear friends, last evening you celebrated a solemn Mass of thanksgiving at the tomb of Saint Peter, beneath the great inscription which reads: Hinc una fides mundo refulget; hinc unitas sacerdotii exoritur. By enabling the vast numbers of the Catholic faithful throughout the world to pray in a common language, your Commission has helped to foster the Church’s unity in faith and sacramental communion. That unity and communion, which has its origin in the Blessed Trinity, is one which constantly reconciles and enhances the richness of diversity. May your continuing efforts help to realize ever more fully the hope expressed by Pope Paul VI in promulgating the Roman Missal: that “in the great diversity of languages, a single prayer will rise as an acceptable offering to our Father in heaven, through our high priest Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit”.
To you, and to all associated with the work of the Commission, I cordially impart my Apostolic Blessing as a pledge of abiding joy and peace in the Lord.
