one of my comments for someone who said that the left is now in control of the Church and we just didn't like it.....

I will admit that if all one reads is what the mainstream media 'quotes' from Pope Francis and their interpretation of what he says , then that IS the impression that people will get. But if one reads the entire actual translations of what he has said from the Vatican website, and it is all there, for the most part, then it becomes obvious that most of what the mainstream media has said is NOT what Pope Francis has actually said. They have misinterpreted and even misquoted his words 90+ % of the time... and I am giving them a generous estimate.

Pope Francis seems to be refusing to fit into a 'right'/'left' paradigm...unless you consider being faithful to Church Doctrine part of a right paradigm or refusing to interpret Church Doctrine in the manner of those completely 'against' Vatican II as part of the left paradigm... Imho, he DOES believe in interpreting Vatican II in a 'hermeneutic of continuity'(in the light of Tradition) and not in a 'hermeneutic of rupture'(a complete break with Tradition).. This does not please either the extreme 'right or left' view....
